In this article she states and advises that the bundled payment system is working toward better payments from Medicare. Patients are coming into the hospitals with more and more chronic disease and payments are typical and standard with these common diseases and ailments afflicting more and more people. She provides a graph of the most common disease being treated in hospitals on a regular basis. To the patient these ailments are not common or routine. However, they are commonly afflicting patients across the globe. Diagnosis and treatment are needing to be billed and the patients who are most commonly diagnosed with these routinely are also exhibiting comorbid diseases. In other words one ailment might bring on other ailments that need to be treated separately so combining the billing will make it easier on the billing team and Medicare itself.
